A Toronto resident is dead, the city's 21st homicide of 2009 and his demise came in an especially gruesome and painful way. On Wednesday night, he was doused with gasoline and set on fire in a home at 20 Jasper Ave., in the Black Creek Drive and Weston Road area.
By the time paramedics arrived, he'd suffered agonizing burns to 75 per cent of his body. The victim was rushed for emergency treatment but his wounds were too great and he succumbed in hospital.
The name of the victim is being withheld pending notification of next of kin and an autopsy is scheduled into the death.
